Creative strategy for DTC ads.

EVOKE’s creative strategy connects what your customers care about with what your next ads need to achieve. We turn research and performance feedback into distinct concepts, useful briefs and a clear direction for production.

01 / THE WORK

More ads starts with better questions.

You may already have plenty of assets. The harder question is whether they explore different reasons to buy, answer an unresolved objection or improve an idea that is showing promise.

We start with the commercial challenge. Perhaps the offer is difficult to understand, the ads attract curiosity without enough purchase intent, or the team keeps returning to the same message. Your next production brief should respond to that challenge.

That means looking beyond an isolated hook rate or a favourite competitor ad. We bring customer feedback, product priorities, campaign performance and the landing-page experience into the conversation.

02 / THE WORK

From customer insight to the next useful test.

1. Understand the business and the buyer

We review your offer, customers, margins, acquisition goals and available performance evidence. Existing ads, reviews and recurring customer questions help identify what people understand, value or hesitate about.

2. Choose the idea worth exploring

We define the customer situation, the buying motivation and the product benefit. Then we choose a relevant way to demonstrate it. A new concept needs a meaningful difference in the message or reason to care.

3. Make the brief useful to production

Scripts and briefs connect the idea to the opening, demonstration, proof, format and call to action. Creators, designers and editors should understand what the asset is trying to communicate and which parts need to stay consistent.

4. Connect delivery with performance learning

We work with your media buyer to review results against agreed objectives. That feedback shapes the next decision: refine an execution, explore a different motivation, revisit the offer or gather more evidence.

03 / THE WORK

A brief you can explain in seven lines.

Our practical starting point is a short creative decision sheet. Each line has a job:

  1. Business goal: What should this round of creative help us learn or improve?
  2. Customer situation: When or why might someone need the product?
  3. Reason to buy: Which benefit or motivation does this concept explore?
  4. Question to answer: What could stop someone from choosing it?
  5. Proof: What real demonstration or evidence can support the message?
  6. Execution: Who presents it, in which format, and with what call to action?
  7. Learning: What result would help decide the next step?

The customer situation is a creative hypothesis. It does not automatically require a separate audience or ad set in the advertising account. Campaign structure remains a shared decision with the media buyer.

04 / THE WORK

Different concepts. Purposeful variations.

Consider a hairbrush. One concept demonstrates the brushing technique. Another answers a practical question about cleaning it. A third explains a genuine design feature and why it matters during use. These are illustrative ideas, not claims about a particular product or campaign.

Within the strongest idea, we might test a different opening, presenter or edit. That is a variation. It can be valuable, but it explores a different question from introducing a new reason to buy.

We plan both. The mix depends on what is already working, the gaps in your current creative and how much testing your budget can support. A large production spreadsheet is useful only when the team can learn from the work.

05 / THE WORK

Strategy stays close to the work.

Creative strategy is a core part of EVOKE’s performance-creative engagement. It feeds concepts, scripts, design, editing and ongoing iterations. It is not a fixed output of identical briefs for every brand.

We can build from your existing footage or scope new creator content and UGC ads. Real filming, product demonstrations, static ads and AI-assisted visual exploration each have a place when they help express the idea.

Your strategist stays connected to production and feedback. EVOKE’s deliberately small roster makes room for direct senior involvement and a practical understanding of the business behind the ads.

06 / THE WORK

A process used inside a growing DTC business.

In our Netherlands-based DTC beauty case, weekly paid-media insights, customer feedback and product priorities shaped briefs for creators, designers and video editors. The work included UGC scripts, demonstrations, promotional assets and launch support.

The brand reported 236% higher Shopify total sales in 2025 than in 2024. That is a store-level result within a wider acquisition, conversion and retention programme, rather than a claim that creative alone caused the increase.

A few practical questions.

Can you work with our existing media buyer?

Yes. We agree how creative priorities, launches and results are shared. Your media buyer can keep responsibility for account delivery while EVOKE owns the agreed creative work. If you need full paid ads management, creative and media buying can also be scoped together.

Can we discuss strategy if we already have a production team?

Yes. Tell us where the current process needs support. We will assess fit and agree the strategy and production responsibilities before an engagement.

Make the next brief a clearer one.

Tell us what you are testing, where the team gets stuck and what growth needs to look like. We will discuss the right creative scope for your brand.
